Blank Wall Meets Brass Birds

A Flock of Seagulls

Found these brass seagulls on Etsy last week from a lovely vintage vendor,
UpTown Found. They now grace the once-blank wall in front of my bed,
greeting me every morning and wishing me Bon Nuit every night. Wonderful.

Smells Like Vintage

Smells Like The 70's
Found this too-groovy 1970's Avon elephant figurine, full of still STRONG
Charisma cologne, on Etsy for only $3 and I had to have it! Goes great with
the $5 painting on wood I recently got at a garage sale.

First Redux of 2011!

Haven't had much luck of late at the flea markets and garage sales, so I've been
looking more and more on Etsy where I found these:

Vintage Peacocks Before

I saw a lot of potential with these vintage lovelies (made in Hong Kong!),
and even though I liked the colors that reminded me of Lifesavers fruit flavors
(kept me quiet in church for years), I had a better idea.

Vintage Peacocks After

Now gracing my bathroom wall...
A little gold spray-paint makes a glamourous difference! All for under $30.

Vintage 1960's Faux-Ostrich Purse From Cherry Pick Vintage

Vintage Faux Ostrich Purse
Et voila!

Back in March, Tasha from one of my fave LA blogs, Blackburn and Sweetzer, wrote about a new vintage store in Los Feliz, Cherry Pick Vintage, so of course I had to check them out! Upon clicking on the link provided, I was directed to their Etsy Store and I discovered this fantastic vintage faux-ostrich purse with great hardware and the perfect color for both spring and fall, for a very reasonable $68 (a splurge for me). It's from the 1960's, with great quality/construction and nobody believes it's faux when I show them (lots of compliments - a nice bonus). Nina (the owner?) also included the loveliest card, real class! Next time I'm in their 'hood, I will definitely be checking out their store, while hoping I don't get too carried away...

Merci Tasha at Blackburn and Sweetzer for another great shopping tip!
Bon Chance to Cherry Pick Vintage, wishing you lots of success!

Until next time... Miss Absinthe

All the Way From Singapore - Maya & Ruhi Artisan Jewelry

I actually squealed when these golden pearly beauties arrived in the mail yesterday, they are that pretty!!! And I owe it all to one of my absolute favorite bloggers, This is Glamorous.

The day before my birthday (last week), she posted a give-away for a gorgeous purple agate cuff bracelet from etsy jewelry line, Maya & Ruhi, which I promptly entered into (keeping fingers crossed) and as I was checking out the rest of the jewelry line, fell into serious bauble-lust. Sweetie-pie wondered what I was oohing and ahhing about, so I showed him and wonderful sneak that he is, made a mental note and ordered them as a late birthday surprise. I couldn't be more tickled.

Merci TIG for all your inspiration and for leading me to my favorite new bauble(s)!

Merci Pearl at Maya & Ruhi for creating beautiful, natural and affordable wearable art!

Merci Sweetie-pie for being the best Sweetie-pie.
